Both Bryan and I loved Cazarez as a character and really didn’t want to see him go. We decided that if we were going to treat death respectfully then it had to hurt. Even now, it breaks my heart to see Cazarez in the last panel being left alone.

Noooooooooo! Yes, it does hurt.
Hmmm, did they only find one human? :>o
I can’t tell you how much i love this comic, it’s a great blend of action and comedy with fun and odd characters!
Thanks, so much for the support. Seriously, knowing that people are enjoying what we’re putting together helps fuel the engine.
To gush further, Corporal Hive has quickly become one of my favorite characters – and I don’t mean in this comic, I mean one of my favorite all-time characters anywhere in any medium, no small feat! I’m simply fascinated by, errr, him/her/THEM! Could a singular-plural be “THIM”?
There are two webcomics I intend to eventually Patreonize (if that’s not a word, it should be!), yours and Erfworld. Although right now I’m under the kind of financial stress I DO wish on my worst enemy (hee heee), there is light at the end of a long tunnel and I fully intend to back both sites in the near future!
Thanks for that note. It made my day.
Hive is really fun. Technically, he really doesn’t have a gender at the macro level, but I guess you’d say he’s mostly male in that he is a metaphor for a naval ship. Space Corps is really a reflection of the American military as I understand it. As the American military is predominately male, Hive is mostly male. He does, however, literally have a feminine side as a percentage of the bees that make up his body and mind are female.
One of the great things about Hive is that he can be viewed from a lot of different points of view: Society and the individual, male and female, id and ego. The way he is built allows us as writers to look at concepts in abstract ways which strip away preconceived notions. It makes him fun to write as well as fun to draw.
